Shelby Hamilton is a painter interested in pattern, color, shadow and light, and the small details that often go unnoticed. She works across a variety of mediums and styles, embracing the freedom to move between them to evoke memories and warmth. Inspired by the lowcountry she calls home, Shelby's work often incorporates the rich geography of her environment.

Shelby was born in Augusta, Georgia, and attended the Lamar Dodd School of Art at the University of Georgia.
