Collection: MEMORIA

Castle Gallery is pleased to present MEMORIA, a group exhibition featuring work by Christen Yates, Jennifer Esser, Kristin Endsley, Lindsey Luna Tucker, Megan Elizabeth, Sarah Bell Wilson, and Tara Andris. Working across sculpture, painting, and multimedia, these artists explore the fluid connections among place, instinct, and sensory memory.

An intentional use of materials, from Kristin Endsley's ethereal poured and cast resin to Christen Yates's locally foraged pigments and Tara Andris's metal leaf ground, creates a textural exploration of fleeting moments of light and color. The energetic expressions of Lindsey Luna Tucker, Megan Elizabeth, and Jennifer Esser are luminous and evocative, grounded in form yet suggestive of a place in constant evolution. Sarah Bell Wilson conjures an expansive and immersive sense of space, reducing color until shape dissolves into mark-making.

In MEMORIA, each work depends on visual memory and the emotional residue of a place rather than on direct visual reference. Collectively, the artwork consciously and curiously interrogates what it means to capture a subject that is both solid and volatile, as fragile and as enduring as the land itself.
